Critters and Beasties of Moberly Lake
The dawn chorus at Moberly Lake features olive sided or eastern phoebes nesting near the kitchen, with lichens grass and webs used as material. Purple finches depart and yellow rumped warblers forage under tables while rosy breasted grosbeaks arrive hungry from the south. White throats show two color phases and males with white stripes pair with buff striped females. Rufous hummingbirds clash with calliope males at feeders. A brilliant western tanager, from Central America, arrives with striking red head yellow body and black white wings.
