Chetwynd pushes doctor recruitment with regional appeal
The District of Chetwynd plans a proactive campaign to lure physicians by sending a recruitment team south to a provincial conference in Penticton. Aimed at showcasing the town to rural doctors, the effort includes housing incentives, a $100,000 signing bonus for one recruit, and ongoing collaboration with Northern Health and provincial medical groups.

Lake trout revival continues at Moberly Lake program
The Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC and the Ministry of Forests plan a multi year effort to rebuild the Moberly Lake lake trout population. In 2012 fourteen thousand fish were released and four years of juvenile releases will lead to ongoing monitoring and third group releases in spring 2016. Local First Nations history and regional fisheries are central to the effort with hatchery releases, closures, reporting and outreach supporting recovery.
