Fire hazard remains extreme in Chetwynd area
In the Chetwynd Area Forest District fire danger stays extreme with 20 fires burning, 20 under observation and 9 active. Mop up crews remain on five fires with 150 men, 26 cats, 2 skidders and 3 helicopters. Ban on camp fires and burn permits persists to prevent false alarms and wasted effort. Deliberate firings suspected on two fires. one was controlled then relit. Areas affected include Willow Flats, 2800 acres, and East Pine Sawmill Co. damaged attempts failed to save the mill.

Canfor to buy Crows Nest Forest Products stake
