Moberly Lake Fire Dept Holds Training Workshop

The Moberly Lake Fire Department hosted a professional training day on April 17 at Camp Emile. Don Stewart and other presenters from Fort St. John and Taylor covered safety, equipment care, recruiting, Workers' Compensation, training, and purchasing new trucks. Community members, executives, and firefighters benefited as the department pursues Fire Underwriters Association accreditation and an expected new fire truck with regional support. The event honored volunteers led by Jean Campbell and Chris Teslyk and noted input from Ferndale Chief Bryant Kimble.

High fire risk fading says Chetwynd chief

Fire Chief Leo Sabulsky says that after two weeks with 15 grass fires and dry spring conditions, rain will green the area and reduce danger to moderate or low within a couple of weeks. Most fires were caused by kids playing with fire or smoking materials.
