Minor Hockey season ends with banquet and awards
The Chetwynd Minor Hockey Association wraps up a successful season with a 2nd annual banquet. Guest speaker Ron Schultz of Dawson Creek inspired about 140 players and dads while 14 youths received trophies. Thanks pour to Royal Purple ladies, BPOE 500, local donors, and businesses. A meeting will elect a new executive in three weeks as parents are urged to participate.

Purchases included a furnace motor and a typing desk, two spring and fall break-ins occurred, a centennial tea was held, bookmark contests ran, and trustees attended multiple conferences and workshops.

Province plans Crown corporation to aid B C processing
The provincial government will create a Crown corporation in 1973 to support food processing and manufacturing in British Columbia. Premier Bennett will introduce legislation next session. Ambitious Mothers March for Ski Hill Project
A group of twenty nine mothers, one incognito, began a hike from Moberly Lake Bridge to the I G A store in Chetwynd to support improvements at the ski hill. A plane saluted overhead as motorists and families along the route cheered the walkers on a sunny day.
