Community thanks volunteers for local search and rescue
The Chetwynd Fire Department and Chetwynd Search and Rescue Society rely on volunteers to respond to winter road crashes avalanches and missing persons calls. They are funded by the District of Chetwynd Peace River Regional District and donations. The mayor commends their dedication and invites new members with training provided. Fire Chief Leo Sabulsky is praised for long service and a BC Achievement Award.
