School winds down green energy plan amid maintenance concern

Cost estimates place greenhouse installation at around $20,000 with hydro added to power it. Batteries from windmills are largely useless though some circuit boards remain usable for donation to the school. The district earned a 2006 Sci-Tech Award for the project but later halted alternatives due to maintenance costs and unreliability. The Boulevard Walkway Improvement Plan proposes connecting to the grid to light the pathway.
