Council OKs transport of beetle damaged timber to Chetwynd
At the March 18 meeting six councillors voted to support Canfor plans to move and mill 150000 cubic metres of beetle infested timber at Chetwynd sawmill. Mayor Langstad recused himself over conflict of interest. Authorities cited 685598 hectares of damaged trees in Prince George region and set strict timing and disposal rules to limit infection risk.
