The Future Is Yours The Future Is Now by Mayor Merlin Nichols
A mayoral column reflects on past unemployment hardships and current job market pressures in Chetwynd. He notes 26 engineering technologist openings in British Columbia municipalities and growing demand for skilled trades as pulp mill and bioenergy projects expand. He urges students to finish high school, excel in math and sciences, and cultivate a strong work ethic while still in school. The piece ends with a disclaimer that the views are the mayor’s and may not reflect council wishes.
