Downtown Revitalization Push Backed By Committee

Search and Rescue Training Planned for Peace River Area
The Provincial Emergency Program will sponsor a weekend SAR training in Ft. St. John on March 16 and 17. Two planes with crews from Chetwynd will join 2 pilots 2 navigators and 4 spotters. Community tribute honors Sgt Ray Cunningham in Chetwynd
At the March 5 council meeting Superintendent Thomp son RCMP Prince George and Staff Sergeant Twist Northern Section attended a presentation to Sergeant Ray Cunningham of the District of Chetwynd for outstanding service during his tour. Cunningham thanked the mayor and council, recalling four children and four grandsons, and tribute was given to Mrs. Cunningham for her community contributions.

Tax sale properties available in 1984 Chetwynd district
Alderman Dunn urges press help to publicize that many tax sale properties held by the District of Chetwynd remain available. Properties with taxes two years in arrears sell at public auction each fall with upset price equal to taxes plus interest. Original owners have twelve months to reclaim, with purchasers refunded plus interest if redeemed. Inquiries should be made at the District Office before July 1.
