Province to launch pilot pre tenure notice for subsurface mineral rights
British Columbia will test a program to alert landowners when subsurface mineral rights beneath their property are sold to oil and gas firms. The pilot aims to give owners time to plan by informing regional districts and landowners before sales, with a potential permanent rollout if successful. NEEMAC collaborated with government on the two year effort.
