Chetwynd high school expands inclusive recycling program
Chetwynd Secondary School enhances its recycling scheme under organizer Jan Chmelyk. Since the 1980s the school has collected paper and beverage containers, but a year ago teachers launched a broader program with an educational song reenactment and new labeled bins for paper plastic compost and more. Each classroom holds distinct yardage of recycling stations and hallways feature more bins for all items. The educator notes most waste can be recycled while soggy paper towels and Styrofoam belong in the garbage. See page 2.
