Campbell backs Weisgerber for next Speaker of the House

In a March 2, 2000 letter to Premier Dosanjh, Speaker Gordon Campbell’s official opposition backs independent MLA Jack Weisgerber as next Speaker in recognition of his public life and legislature experience. Weisgerber, from the south Peace, would help balance power, as Dosanjh schedules a March 15 session with Speaker election first. Weisgerber hopes to meet constituents March 9 in Chetwynd during the Governor General’s visit.
