Chetwynd Recreation Centre set for July 1 public opening
Canada Day hopes prompt opening of the expanded recreation centre in Chetwynd Area E. Occupancy licence expected by Friday though full opening delayed until late September for grand events. The 7.2 million project joins the recreation centre with the leisure pool and adds expanded facilities and a water slide. Groundbreaking was in 2009 with referendum approval in 2006 and funding from property taxes and borrowed capital.
