Bridge contracts awarded for Chetwynd Tumbler Ridge road
Two bridge contracts worth 6.9 million dollars have been awarded to Canadian firms for structures on the Chetwynd Tumbler Ridge North East Coal Development Access Road. Goodbrand Construction Ltd of Aldergrove will build Flatbed Creek and Wolverine River bridges starting mid July with a 1983 October completion.

Sterling Newspapers Ltd held a three day session in Prince George with Prof. R Marcus from McGill presenting Selling Opportunities in a Recession. Girl Guides Honor Loyalists At Chetwynd Banquet 1982
The Chetwynd Annual Girl Guide Banquet on June 15 1982 recognized special awards and fellowship. A color party flag presentation and a pot luck dinner served by Auxiliary to Branch 258 followed by introductions and thanks to leaders and sponsors highlighted the evening. Certificates of appreciation and long service awards honored guiding members from Packs 1 and 2 and Cadet Carmie Keller with Mrs. Larsen announced a new District Commissioner in September.
