Sinkhole found on road over W A C Bennett dam
BC Hydro reports a sinkhole on the road over the W A C Bennett dam. An 18 inch surface hole expands to a six by six foot cavity below caused by a broken vertical pipe used for settlement measurements in the 1960s. The road is closed but will reopen within a week after drilling and checks. The incident does not affect dam integrity or power generation which supplies a large share of the province.
