Civic Properties Commission backs doctor welcome at Rec Centre
The Civic Properties Commission approved a policy to give visiting doctors a free one month pass to the Rec Centre and its facilities to help them settle in. Maintenance updates included linoleum and tile work, painting touch ups, new black asphalt flooring, tables, flower beds, cleaned hockey boards, and a fixed pool fire alarm with emergency phones. Rec Centre attendance showed 4249 pool visits in May, 1003 weight room visits, 200 pool visitors on Victoria Day, and a repaired whirlpool. A summer swim schedule and lessons were completed, while the Teens in Motion radio show on CHET 94.5 drew positive feedback.
