Bernier named chair of Aboriginal Affairs committee
DAWSON CREEK Peace River South MLA Mike Bernier was named chair of the select standing committee on Aboriginal affairs, replacing Patt Pimm who joined Christy Clark's cabinet as Agriculture Minister. The panel will review treaties and development with projects like Site C and pipelines while considering a regional plan for First Nations communities. Bernier, sworn in Victoria, plans to open a second constituency office in Chetwynd and set up staff and offices as the committee begins its work.
