Council reviews burning bylaws and waste handling

District Council discussed a letter from Jim Derby of Chetwynd and will review burning bylaws for waste. Peace Valley Wood Inc. plans 1 2 months this year with no 1996 burn. Soil treatment research was outlined by Dave Komaike. Canfor trucks asked about disposal material and council was told it is clean fill. The town hall meeting is delayed until mid fall. Council backs Vernen for free collective bargaining reinstatement under Bill 35.

Chetwynd Chamber Receives 8500 Funding Boost

The Chetwynd Chamber of Commerce will receive 8500 from the Ministry of Small Business to upgrade its business information centre services. Minister Bill Barlee announced the grant on June 5, 1995, noting ongoing annual funding to maintain literature and to link with Chamber Link for resources.
