First of many biomass plants resumes power generation
Conifex’s 100 million woodfuel plant at Mackenzie in northern British Columbia is back on stream and expected to start tests within a month, targeting end of September for full operation. The project, among several planned biomass developments, aims to convert beetle-killed timber into about 36 megawatts enough to power 16 000 homes, as BC’s bioenergy push expands with multiple new facilities and ongoing financing efforts.
