Interpretive centre plan draws scrutiny in Dawson Creek
The Alaska Highway Interpretive Centre concept gains in principle support from the South Peace Historical Society but raises concerns about viability costs and parking. The $6.5 million 45000 square foot project would include a 350 seat theatre at NAR Park. Society members warn it may burden taxpayers and affect park facilities unless financially self sustaining. Mayor Lekstrom cautions the project could be scaled down. The committee seeks $250,000 Millennium Funds for design costs.
