Drunk Driver Case Forces ICBC Payout in 1986 Crash
Supreme Court of Canada rules a drunken passenger can sue a drunk vehicle owner for damages. Vincent Hall, injured after taking a rolling start on Graveyard Road near Gold River in July 1986, is found 50 percent liable. ICBC must pay about 150000 dollars. The BC Appeal Court had blocked Hall’s claim, but the high court overturned it.
