BC minister launches pilot to expand consumer services for natives

Village of Chetwynd approves higher mill rate and budget

The Village increases the assessment to 34 mills up 7.9 percent from 1977 to cover higher expenses. Total budget rises to 1,458,129 with 8.85 percent growth, including hospital and regional district increases, and new water and sewer utility line items totaling 1,135,375. Development plans reveal 109 single family units and 53 multi units

The project, extending south of the tracks to Wabi Crescent on Airport Road, includes 1129 lots and three private developers eyeing subdivisions. Mayor Lasser, after visiting Victoria, expressed optimism on upgrading 2.4 miles of access roads, a Centurion Creek bridge, airport improvements, and 600 acres of ski hill land for a recreation reserve.

Land appraisers to reassess Chetwynd area in BC

British Columbia assessment authority appraisers Mr. Ken Solick and Mr. William Der will survey the region outside Chetwynd village limits west to Azouetta Lake for two and a half months. The reassessment covers all residential, commercial, and industrial properties, last done eight years ago.
