The Royal Purple of Chetwynd designated the first Wednesday of June as Royal Purple Day for local seniors. A free luncheon followed by entertainment brought together seniors for an afternoon of community celebration.
On Wednesday June 1 MBC representative Dr. Doug Baker and media officer Rob Vanadrichem spoke at Chetwynd Secondary to grade 11 and 12 students about the University of Northern British Columbia. They answered questions and discussed costs housing and travel from the north. Baker noted most applicants come from the south and UNBC aims to recruit more northern students with the university opening in September 1994. Contact UNBC at 604-960-5620 for more information.
