Fatal accident at W A C Bennett Dam claims electrician
On July 23 at the W A C Bennett Dam a construction electrician Norm Cockerill 59 of Fort St. John was electrocuted in a switch yard. He died after swift transport to Hudson's Hope Clinic as investigators from the Workers Compensation Board coroner and BC Hydro review the incident. The company halted all work and expressed condolences to the family.

MOU on First Nations education signed in British Columbia

Nault Christy Clark and the First Nations Education Steering Committee signed a memorandum of understanding on July 24 to give First Nations greater control over education from kindergarten to Grade 12 on and off reserve in British Columbia.
