Province advises public on mini blinds disposal
The provincial Ministry of Environment says PVC window mini blinds with lead may be disposed of with regular household garbage when wrapped in plastic and placed in general waste. Data from Environment Canada shows landfilling small quantities poses no health or environmental risk. Retailers with larger quantities should contact BC Environment offices or the BC Recycling Hotline for guidance.
