Cancer survivor leads dragon boat team to fund Tecumseh event
Nazire Gjinnaj, a Unifor Local 444 worker, joined 33 teammates at Tecumseh's Dragon Boat Festival for the Cure to raise funds for local cancer treatment and research on its sixth straight year. Her team collected $20,000 this year as she marks eight years cancer free since Stage 3 diagnosis in 2007. Gjinnaj says survivors in attendance deepen hope and community support. The Tecumseh event, now in its 13th year, brings together families and workers to fight cancer.
