Getting older yet healthier Canada census view 1981
Health and Aging WW notes Canada's 1981 census showing 2.361 million over 65, about ten percent, up from 1976, with younger population shrinking. Life expectancy rises sharply: males 71.5 at birth, females 78.7. Advocate emphasis on self care for all ages and critique aging as inevitable health care cost. Russ Kisby of PARTICIPaction quotes saying age is a slowed, not failing, state.
