Boy rides river cresting river trip in toy truck
Demetrius Jones rode his battery operated Hot Wheels truck down the Peace River about 12 kilometres from Peace Island Park. Found by Don Loewen in a kneeling position on his car, he was cold but safe after a near drowning. He received quick care for hypothermia and was released after about an hour. Park friends and campers organized a rescue with RCMP involvement and later planned a celebratory party with fruit and ice cream.
