Ottawa solar farm to become Canada’s largest photovoltaic plant
Ottawa and EDF EN Canada announce a $100 million 200 acre solar farm in West Carleton with 300,000 panels, two parallel installations feeding the grid, and up to 20 megawatts of power powering about 7,000 homes. The project creates 100-plus jobs, with land leased for 20 years. The move reflects Ontario’s renewable energy push amid controversy over subsidies and land use.
