CBC appoints Madeleine Champagne to oversee women portrayal

She replaces Louise Imbeault and begins the role July 15, with a background as a public affairs correspondent since 1973 and past host duties. Champagne won the Judith Jasmin Award in 1980 for outstanding journalism. Jean-Guy Moreau rests for two months after open heart surgery, affecting his scheduled hosting of the Festival Just For Laughs in Montreal.
