Candystriper of the Year Named at Year End BBQ
Joy Neufeld was chosen Candystriper of the year at the Year End Candystriper BBQ hosted by Mrs. Barb Shirley on June 24. Terra Smith Nithya Siva and Carol Courtreille received name tags and badges for orientation and test. Cindy Johnston Danielle Bailey and Tammy Martins earned nursing caps certificates for fifty hours of service. Taeya Barrette and Teresa Greenwood were welcomed as new members. Joy Neufeld received a 100 hour pin plaque and flowers for being selected 1984 5 candystriper of the year.

Old age security pensions rise in July cost of living linked
Federal Old Age Security pensions GIS and Spouse's Allowance will be increased in July to reflect inflation. The OAS will be $280.14 monthly for July to September. GIS for singles rises to $332.93 and $216.83 per spouse for married couples. Spouses Allowance and extended Spouses benefits also increase. Adjustments follow the Consumer Price Index. The Legislature adjourned June 28 amid opposition critiques and notes on upcoming bills and property taxation changes.
