Candy Stripers Honor Night At Chetwynd Hospital Awards
The Candy Stripers of Chetwynd Hospital were feted at an Auxiliary hosted awards night led by supervisor Mrs R E Hoffman. Seventeen girls logged 720 volunteer hours with honors for 30 75 and 100 hour milestones and Kelly Bjorge named Candy Striper of the Year for attendance attitude and participation. The group performed a skit and presented gifts to Mrs Hoffman with nursing staff also recognized.

Court cases from Chetwynd area June 1974 charge drivers
Milton Grant Cushway of Fort St. John charged June 21 1974 with operating an oversized vehicle in the Chetwynd area and paid a 35 dollar penalty. Peter Blue of Chetwynd appeared June 27 1974 for driving without a licence and without due care on May 4 1974 and was fined 25 dollars for each offence. Rennie Lalonde of Moberly Lake appeared June 27 1974 for driving over .08 percent BAC and was fined 100 dollars. Donald Ross of Chetwynd pleaded June 27 1974 for BAC over .08 and was fined 100 dollars. Mrs Rose Drake president of the Auxiliary thanked the hospital workers and invited all to a luncheon hosted by the Auxiliary.

Auxiliaries across Canada raise four million dollars annually for hospital luxuries and ward equipment, with Ottawa and Jr Red Cross groups also featured.
