NFU Opposes CN Incentive Rate Plan in Alberta Saskatchewan
The National Farmers Union Region 8 coordinator urged Don Mazankowski to oppose CN Rail’s application to the Canadian Transport Commission seeking incentive rates at delivery points in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Farmers warn a variable rate structure would lower farm gate grain prices, raise costs for large trucks, harm rural communities, and depress land values near the incentive zones.
