Names of crash victims released near Hudson's Hope
The BC Coroners Service confirmed the identities of three men who died in a December 31 2014 motor vehicle incident near Hudson's Hope. Ian Leonardis Roelofsen 41 of Coaldale Alberta was the driver. Michael Frank Joseph Savignac 28 of Beaumont Alberta and Christopher Johnathon Shepherd 25 of Devon Alberta were passengers. Investigations by Coroners Service WorkSafe BC and RCMP Traffic Services continue. Families have been notified.

Peace River Dam project cancelled near Dunvegan
TransAlta Corp in a letter to the Alberta Utilities Commission pulls its 100 megawatt run-of-river project near Dunvegan citing uncertain market conditions. The company will update studies and reapply when economic conditions improve. Environmental groups welcomed the pause, citing river ecology concerns and unanswered questions about fish passage and impacts.
