Fire destroys Lasser Ranch machine shop in Chetwynd
On January 17 a blaze at the Lasser Ranch machine shop owned by former mayor Charlie Lasser completely destroyed the building after a 4 hour effort by Chetwynd Fire Department. Fire Chief Leo Sabulsky cited cedar walls and a faulty furnace as factors. Damage estimated at 200000 to 250000 dollars. Community help noted with coffee for firefighters and equipment loan for timbers removal.
