A sunny January 18 Powder King event drew 35 skiers to the Little Swiss Inn and Chetwynd Sports Centre Challenge Race. Janet Sadoway of Prince George won first with runs of 40.97 and 40.94 seconds, earning a $295 pair of skis. Steve Merrill, also of Prince George, took second with 34.20 and 34.57, winning a $60 gift certificate. Tom Hathaway of Fort St. John finished third with 38.73 and 39.17. Prizes were shared by the two sponsors, and Powder King served grilled Swiss sausages.
The final executive meeting was held at the Chetwynd Hotel on Wednesday at noon with Rita Rix, Robbie Larsen, Judy Lazenby, Joan Chesley and Jean McDonald. Judy Lazenby presented the final treasurers report showing 250 dollars returned to the Lionesses from the 500 donation, about 80 dollars to the Chetwynd Man in Motion Committee, and Expo memorabilia to the Little Prairie Heritage Society. The District of Chetwynd will store the final books and records of the committee.
