A Salute To The Chetwynd Volunteer Fire Department
The Echo chronicles Chetwynd BC’s 1957 to 1983 fire service buildup from a half dozen volunteers to a 25 member department led by Fire Chief Bryan King and Deputy Bill Rand. It covers siren origins at the hotel, a fire phone system, social events, Hose Laying contests, and the 1983 arrival of a new 1050 GPM Superior built apparatus replacing the older ladder truck.
