Chetwynd seven year old Reighan Pohl shaved her hair to donate 12 inches to Angel Hair for Kids a program of A Child's Voice Foundation in Canada. She mailed the braid and plans to grow it back for another donation while explaining the charity helps financially disadvantaged children in need of wigs and hair prostheses.

Chetwynd Walk for Memories honours three Alzheimer brothers
The Chetwynd chapter of the Alzheimer Society hosts its annual Walk for Memories on Sunday January 25 at the Recreation Centre from noon to 2 pm with a pancake breakfast at 10 am and a silent auction. This year the event honours Doug Cyril and Jim Ternent who all faced Alzheimer's and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force or WWII. The local chair notes fundraising efficiency and urges online or day-of registration with prizes for higher fundraising.
