Peace Region mayors seek reestablishment of regional coalition
Dawson Creek mayor Dale Bumstead Fort St. John mayor Lori Ackerman and Taylor mayor Fred Jarvis urge Peace Region municipalities and electoral area directors to hold a planning meeting to reestablish a regional coalition. They fear provincial action could alter the Fair Share indexing formula after 2030 and press for a structured memorandum of understanding with the province. A kickoff meeting is planned for January 30, 2014 in Taylor at 10 a.m. They request a possible pre meeting with Premier Clark if feasible.

Valley vision backed by working group in Site C debate
The Peace River Valley Working Group presented a valley vision to the PRRD amid uncertainty over whether the Site C dam will proceed. Members from Treaty 8 First Nations, Peace Valley Landowners Association, and the Yellowstone to Yukon Association call for endorsement while avoiding a stance on the dam. Directors express support in parts but hesitate without dam decision, with some urging formal recognition of the vision's consideration.
