Strategy aims to protect wildlife habitat in Peace River lowlands
Brian Churchill, a biologist and former Ministry of Environment official, argues for a conservation strategy across the Peace River lowlands spanning Fort St. John to between towns. The plan, supported by the Habitat Conservation Trust Fund, identifies 15 Crown land reserves and 15 unreserved areas as high priority to preserve moose, deer, bears, warblers and waterfowl amid farming, logging and oil development.
