Nenan and MCFD join in culture focused partnership
CHETWYND The Nenan Dane Zaa Deh Zena Family Services Society partners with the Ministry of Children and Family Development to reclaim jurisdiction over services for First Nations and Métis peoples in northeast British Columbia. Ed Barry and other ministry leaders attended a workshop at the Tansi Friendship Centre to discuss long term changes. Barry acknowledged MCFD’s poor historical track record and emphasized learning from communities to shift toward culturally sensitive social work and grassroots practice. Foxcroft expressed excitement about the vision as the ministry moves toward structural changes.
