Bill Ritchie minister of municipal affairs replied to a January 11 letter from the District of Chetwynd. He cites a task force studying boundary expansion affecting industrial sites and expects cabinet action in one month to six weeks. The Tumbler Ridge boundary encroachment issue remains ongoing with further talks between the deputy minister and Mr Walsh and his council.
The District of Chetwynd accepts a new ambulance funded by the province with Mayor Lasser and officials present. The second unit will improve service and security for Chetwynd and nearby areas. The vehicle will be housed in current bays until building expansion funds enable space.
Larry Binks acknowledged the time and effort of part timers who donated many hours to secure the ambulance service in Chetwynd and the surrounding area. He said without their volunteer hours, the service would not be possible.

A trailer measuring 12 by 70 feet with a 14 by 30 addition burned in the Rodeo Subdivision at 7 02 am on Wednesday February 8. Neighbour reports the fire started from an electrical problem and two walls collapsed before firefighters arrived. Billy Livingstone, working in Hudson Hope, owned the trailer which was completely destroyed. damage estimates were not available.
