Better access means better care in B C health plan
A health action plan announced January 26 allocates 1.3 million dollars for the first year and 4.2 million for 2001 02 to improve palliative care primary care and home care across British Columbia. The plan funds a new palliative care benefits program effective February 1 and supports five new primary care projects in Logan Lake Ashcroft Clinton Francois Lake and Vancouver's Downtown Eastside plus seven demonstration centres in the Lower Mainland Victoria and Chase.

Ruby anniversary celebrated for Harold and Tina Rowledge
Harold and Tina Rowledge marked 40 years of marriage with a Thursday gathering at the Dragon Palace basement attended by about 50 friends. The couple wed January 28 1961 at the Pentecostal Church in Langley BC and later settled in Fernie BC before moving to Chetwynd in July 1991 where they have pastored the Chetwynd Gospel Tabernacle.

Green Buildings BC retrofit at Kwantlen University College
The province and BC Hydro will push green design and energy retrofits in public facilities under the Green Buildings BC program. At Kwantlen University College in Surrey a $1.38 million retrofit will cut energy use, with completion expected in November, boosting savings and reducing emissions.
