The Canadian Police Information Centre nears its fifth operational year with a fast computer network at RCMP Headquarters in Ottawa. Over 850 terminals across Canada feed data from police departments to the central system, delivering instant answers in seconds. The CPIC database currently includes the vehicle file with stolen autos, trucks, motorcycles, snowmobiles, aircraft, and boats.
