First-time university enrollments rise in Northern BC
UNBC research shows a surge in first-time northern BC students attending university since 1994. About 612 northern students are entering university for the first time, with 60 percent choosing UNBC and UBC enrollments dropping from about half to under 20 percent. Prince George district shows a fourfold rise, from 80 to 300 in two years. UNBC is now the preferred destination for many northerners, who increasingly regard UNBC as their university.
