Contributions to the annual British Columbia Christmas Seal Campaign totalled 106 500 as of December 18, down from 445 000 on the same date last year. The campaign, delayed by a national postal dispute, aims to support respiratory disease programs, medical research, and facility improvements.

Ed Smith serves as Speaker. Phillips aims to revive the province economically after the NDP defeat and premier Bill Bennett forms a 14 member cabinet.
The Chetwynd Lions heard guest speaker Dean Westgate of the Chetwynd Ski Club outline plans to improve the ski hill. Initial costs for lodge electricity, a tracked snow vehicle, and a T bar lift to the top were discussed as part of making the hill among the region’s best.
The last OORP meeting of 1975 was December 18 at Elks Hall. Chair Lady Berlinger led 23 Sisters as Santa arrived with gifts after a few Bingo games. Five Sisters won prizes, then all received their gifts, followed by a pot luck banquet and holiday wishes from the reporter.
The Chetwynd Ambulance Society will relocate the ambulance to the former Westcoast Transmission building beside B C Hydro, after housing in the Fire Hall. A new fire engine is expected early next year to replace the loaned unit from the Provincial Fire Marshals office. The Lions Club draw selects Carl P. Koeckher as fourth winner of the $500 per month prize, ticket 149.
The Chetwynd Provincial Court heard penalties paid in the last three weeks for various vehicle and licensing offences. Names include Willis Herrick Carey Hood Robert McKenzie Alister Tattrie Ronald Kube Barry Ganson Ralph Hauber Barry Berg Colin Traplin Kevin Jeannette Delbert McCormick Cliff Young Auguste Rohel and Bradley MacTavish. Judges Levis noted guilty pleas from Lance Lindstrom Calvin Shannon and Lawrence Andrews with fines ranging from 25 to 50 dollars for minor in possession and driving licence infractions. A male juvenile pleaded guilty to ski-doo licence violations and failing to stop on demand.
