The Three Chetwynd Elementary Schools C.S.S. and Creative Play at the Recreation Centre stage Christmas music and community entertainment this busy week. Students and staff spend labor and practice on programs while business and industry support the efforts, enriching memories of Christmas in Chetwynd.
Five volunteers completed the SuperHost course and will train local employers to educate staff in tourism. The program aims to boost BC's economy by making visitors feel welcome, encouraging longer visits and higher spending. Instructors listed are Barb Shirley, Bunne Hoffman, Susan Parker, Ellen Roller, and Pauline Huska, with classes starting in early 1987. For enrollment, contact Barb Shirley at the Chamber of Commerce Office, 788-3655.
Laurette McKay and Leroy Thola presented Denise Nichols with a $1214.00 donation from CFI employees to support filling Christmas Hampers. Nichols praises the community effort as 157 hampers and 32 cheer baskets were prepared, thanking donors pricelessly.
A four week pattern of fair weather persists with mild south westerly winds across the Peace district. Occasional snow flurries are forecast as the pattern holds steady.
