Hampers Fill Fast As Chetwynd Christmas Bureau Grows
Over 190 hampers were packed by about 20 volunteers on December 15 in Chetwynd as part of the annual Christmas Bureau effort. The drive collected dry goods from the community, surpassing last year’s figure of roughly 160 hampers. Shirley Weeks noted the program’s growth and the aim to help those less fortunate enjoy Christmas, while Weeks recalled the project’s roots and expansion after churches first started it. The society funds activities through the year, solicits donations from businesses, and receives help from local groups including the Pathfinders, who began collecting around Halloween.
