Electrical Safety Warning Issued on Night Lights
Municipal Affairs Minister Lyall Hanson announced a safety warning and a ban on further sales of a direct plug-in night light after a 14 month old child died. Dr James Hill of the Electrical Safety Branch explained the device keeps the bulb shell live due to an unpolarized plug, risking fatal shock to children. An order published in the B C Gazette on November 30 requires removal from sale.
